Summer Mix

As we slide into Labour Day weekend people think summer is over but we have at least a month left so let's enjoy it! Ted and Brian each pick 3 songs that they feel would add to the vibe of a summer playlist.

The shortstack Sessions #3: Sky

This is actually the second we recorded but Brian got lazy and edited things out of order. 

Sky was formed by James Renald and Antone Sicotte in Montreal.  Bonding  over 70s funk and various other genresthey quickly signed a deal and released Piece of Paradise with such hits as Love song and some kind of wonderful. For various reasons James Renald left and two other encarnations of sky formed but nothing compared to that first one. Please share with your pals and head to Apple and leave us a 5 star review!

Short Stack Sessions # 2 LIVEONRELEASE

Only Ted and Brian could extend an episode where only one of 2 albums is available and stretch it into two hours. Today we talk about the all girl pop punk/ alt rock group from Vancouver. Liveonrelease formed and were taken under the wing of Bif Naked. The boys go on a few tangents from football, tattoos youth sports and female athletics. Episode 29: Rascalz

We're back! Brian took the away on summer vacation sign off his computer and did some editing! We're happy to release this episode. The Vancouver hip hop group had success with their song Northern touch that sparked a Junos controversy  but that recognized hip hop as one of the mainstream genres.

Episode 28: Bif Naked

Welcome again and thank you for tuning into another episode of canada fm! we had fun with this ep as one of canadas hardest rocking ladies is the focus for the next 2 hours and change. We went a little long and tangent happy but it was a fun one. We hilight her early beginnings to her health  later in her career.

The Shortstack Sessions: Not By Choice

We don't know why they're called shortstack sessions because no one can spin a yarn like Teddy and Brian. But this week we cover one of Canada's pop punk bands Not by choice.  Formed in Ajax, friends of the popular band Sum 41 yet they never took off. In this episode we dig into the 2 albums and have some fun. So get your wrist band, spiked belt, whatever skateboard merch you bought at West 49 and lets go in the wayback machine to the early 2000s!

Happy Long Weekend! Nothing  says start of summer like the may 24, cottages, BBQ's parties and Nothing says a party like Great Big Sea! Their blend of east coast traditionals and pop sensibilities made them one of the most popular Canadian acts from the 90s through to the end of their run. Their lovable personalities and high energy live shows  made them fan favorites... But why didn't they break more Outside of Canada? Well dive down the rabbit hole starting in part one we go from their self titled album to the sea of no cares.

The boys tried something new they recored outside so if you hear birds or dogs dont adjust your headphones. Also as you know the boys love their preamble so if you wanna jump into great big sea skip to 18-20 minutes.
